Ice Cream Day Brings Summer Smiles to Richard House Care Home

Residents at Richard House Care Home in Grantham enjoyed a surprise visit from a local ice cream van, bringing smiles, sunshine and nostalgic summer memories to everyone involved.

Arriving with his catchy tunes, residents eagerly formed a queue to chose their favourite ice creams.

Some had 99s, some had tubs, and even a strawberry split, but everyone finished every last drop.

There were smiles all around on this beautiful sunny day. One resident commented ‘What a treat, the sound of the ice cream man arriving, brings back memories of taking my children and grandchildren for ice cream in the summer holidays.’

Another commented, ‘My ice cream was delicious, thank you for our surprise visit.’ From themed events and entertainment to community visits and outdoor activities, residents at Richard House regularly enjoy experiences designed to promote happiness, connection and quality of life.
